“Moses said, “Please show me your glory.”” Exodus 33:18 ESV
Lord, like Moses, let this be our prayer, more than our prayer, let it be the cry of our heart. More than anything else, we want to see your glory. You typically don’t show your glory to just anyone. By showing us your glory it is allowing us to see more of who you are - your character, your majesty, your might, your love. We can see some of your glory all around us each day. It is your glory we see in nature, in your work in our lives and in the lives of others, in your Word, and so many other ways you reveal yourself to us. Oh, but how we want to see more of you. Draw us closer. Help us to willingly pay the price to walk the path that will lead us deeper in knowing you than we ever imagined.
Lord, you said when we seek you will find you. Help us seek you above all else. Help us make you the highest priority in our lives. We want to truly see you as our greatest treasure that we would do anything to obtain more of. We want to know you more. Show us more of who you are. Reveal yourself to us as we read your Bible, as we spend time in worship, as we make time to sit at your feet and listen to you share your heart with us. Increase our hunger and our capacity to know you more. Please, reveal more of your glory to us. Give us a life altering encounter with you like Moses had that leaves us in awe and reverence of you. Mark us so that we are never the same again.
In Jesus name, amen.
