“Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as members of one family. Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another. Speak blessing, not cursing, over those who reject and persecute you.” Romans 12:10, 14 TPT
Lord, grow us into people who know how to love like you do. Help us to always see fellow believers as family members even if we don’t agree with them on everything. I like that it says be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers. We need to be devoted to loving. Devoted means having a strong feeling of loyalty, affection, or dedication to someone or something. It can also mean to give a lot of time and attention to something or someone. A good family will walk in love, loyalty, respect, and unity even if they don’t agree with one of their family members on everything. Help us learn to walk in this kind of love with all the Body of Christ.
Lord, we ask for you to help us walk in love even with those who are coming against us. Help us speak blessings over them. Let our lives shine bright even in the hardest situations. We can’t accomplish this in our own strength. We need your help, Holy Spirit. Let us see people with your eyes. Work in us and fill us with your fruit. Give us your patience and long suffering. When we feel hard pressed on all sides, we want it to be your fruit that is squeezed out of us and not anger, frustration, hatred, or any such thing. Transform us and make us more like you.
In Jesus name, amen.
