“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 NIV
Lord, today I pray that you would keep us vigilant and aware of the tactics of the enemy. Open our eyes to see them so we don’t fall into his traps. Give us your strategy to defeat him. Bring to our minds “arrows and shields” of truth from your Word that we can use to quickly defeat him. If the attack is coming through another person, show us how to look past the way the enemy is using them and still love the person. Help us forgive and show us how to handle the situation in a way that glorifies you and brings them honor. Help us walk humbly. Show us when we need to turn the other cheek and when we need to stand up to something. Give us your wisdom and strategy for defeating the enemy in each situation.
Lord, we praise you that you are our deliverer and our defender. We praise you for never leaving us and not giving us more than we can handle with you. Help us learn to give things over to you and trust you to handle them for us. Help us learn to trust in and rely on you no matter what we are facing. You are a good God who loves us dearly. You are worthy of our everything, and we commit to continuing to fight our battles with you.
